Alberto Águeda

Alberto is an MSc Aerospace Engineer with 20 years of international experience in the space market within GMV and 15 years of managerial and business development experience. He counts on significant technical expertise in the Space Flight Dynamics, Navigation, (Precise) Orbit Determination, Space Surveillance & Tracking and Space Traffic Management domains.
At present, he is the Coordinator of Space Safety, Space Situational Awareness (SSA), Space Surveillance & Tracking (SST) and Space Traffic Management (STM) activities and Head of Division in the Flight Dynamics and Operations business unit of GMV Space. He is in charge of the department operations for the institutional market including management (80+ engineers in 6 countries: ES, DE, FR, UK, PL, RO), accounting (10+ M€ yearly revenue, with average 2-digit yearly growth in the last decade), business development (tens of customers) and contracts, also providing support to commercial initiatives in the same domain.
His mission is to manage the Space Safety and the Flight Dynamics and Operations business and its engineering team in the institutional market and ensure their respective growth in order to strengthen GMV’s leading position and look for new customers, opportunities and niches for GMV’s advanced systems, products and services in these fields.
He has managed tens of contracts in the Space Safety, Navigation the Flight Dynamics and Operations domains for ESA, CNES, DLR, EUMETSAT and CDTI among many other space agencies and has supported tens of commercial satellite operators all around the globe including Eutelsat, Hispasat, Arabsat, StarOne and JSAT, which make use of GMV’s proprietary focusoc Operations Centre for the provision of commercial collision avoidance services to 10+ operators and 80+ satellites.
